    Default GT500 sight(s)

Got a new GT500 this week, my first Elite. After getting everything set up and the initial tune, Im really excited about this bow. This thing is a shooter!
That being said, its really wierd that I had to bottom out the adjustments on my Hogg it sight with the bar extended all the way out. I have 2 of these sights and have never had a problem.

Does anybody have a better recommendation for a hunting/3d sight for this rig? I prefer 2nd and 3rd axis leveling, but seeing as how Im only gonna sit in a tree stand the next few months, I guess its not vitally important until spring or so.

Im really stoked about the way this rig shoots and the overall feel of the bow. Cant believe I waited this long try one.
    Thanks

I've got a hoggit hunter on my GT500 and it's close to bottomed out but there are a couple holes left in the adjustment. You know you can adjust the height by moving the whole head up or down on the bracket right, not just by turning the screws. I'll take a pic in a while and post it for you to see.

    Thanks Rem.
Rg-I have the entire housing in the last 2 available holes. I have 2 Hogg its and one Hogg it hunter and I think there might be some sort of correlation with how far the sight is extended. Im thinking about trying the sight moved in closer to the riser and see if it would help.

Ive been shooting long bar sights for so long, it might be wierd to have one right on the riser again.
    We will see tomorrow.
    Thanks for all the replies.

Move your sight pins back closer to the bow and you will gain more useable adjustment. ( you will also notice less movement in your pins while aiming )

I have had this problem in the past with Hogg-It sights on my GT500. I found that my peep was out of adjustment. I can't remember if it was too high or too low. Too high I think. When I changed the peep it really changed the amount I had to move the vertical adjustment.

Too low of a peep will cause the sight to be low in the range of adjustment. I just got a GT500 and I had to bottom out my Hogg It as well. I've had this same sight on a Hoyt Seven 37, Drenalins, Prestiges, Alpha Max 35, Alpha Burner, S2 and maybe a few more. I never had to run it this low before on any of these bows.

I think part of it is that with the GT500 your hand is very close to the Berger hole, which also seems to be fairly low in relation to the shelf. I think this helps with accuracy a little bit, but also means your sight will be lower on these bows than on something like a Mathews where the wood grip and a slightly higher Berger hole makes for more separation between your bow hand and the arrow.

Might all be BS, but it makes sense to me.

Spot Hogg makes a drop down bracket for this exact issue.
