Frog gigging

Took my 11 yr old nephew frog gigging last weekend. It was his first time and he stuck those frogs like a pro. Killed a dozen total, but we only had a couple of hours. Here's the two biggest ones:

Some of those bigger ones are the size of chicken legs after they're skinned.

Nice to see some bullfrogs still around, have noticed a big decline in bullfrogs over the past 10 years. Hopefully they might be coming back. They do make for some good eating.

I've got several places where the bullfrog population is still strong. Some places that look pretty froggy have none. It varies from year to year. Mild winter usually means big frogs.

I have a spot to go thats loaded down with frogs. I havent been frogging in a long time, just may have to make a trip here pretty soon.

Now's the time, usually the ponds or creeks are low and the temps dropping a little at night sure makes it nice.......plus it's a great beer drinking sport!
