    Default Help selecting an arrow

I just bought a Z28, draw weight is 70-72lb, shooting 100gr rage and my draw is 29", from my nock valley to where arrow sits on rest is 26.5" so I would go with an arrow around 28"? Easton and Beman calculator put me in a .340 spine. I was looking at the Beman MFX classic or Easton Axis N-Fused. I like the MFX weight for kinetic energy. Would I be better suited with a .300 spine and a little longer arrow? I hear the Z28 radical cam can be tricky to dial in. Thoughts??

    Thanks,
    Ben

I see this is your first post......welcome. I don't think I'd be going with a 300 spine and shooting a 70lb bow. You need a stiffer spine than that.

The .300 spine is stiffer than the .340. The .340 @ 28" w/100 gr. tip would be just about perfect. My GT500 shoots the Maxima Hunter 350's best @28" w/100 gr. tip. The .300's (Gold Tip Velocity Pro's )were just a little too stiff and I had problems getting them to broadhead tune, whereas the broadheads tuned perfectly with the Maxima Hunter 350's. I shoot 71#@29.6" at 314 fps with a 394 gr. arrow/tip combination.Slick trick mag's are dead on at 50 yards.

Your basicly the same specs as me and my Z28. Im shooting the 75/95XT which is a .340 spine and it groups and shoots awesome and tunes easier for me than the lighter spine.

Congratuolations on the first of many Elite bows,

    to the EAF.

I have the same set up as you for the most part, and I am using the Carbon Express Maxima 350's. They have done my bow justice.
