    Default drawboard/string peg question

I just about finished remaking my drawboard. I made it long enough so I can put a peg of some sort towards the end so I can measure my strings on it also.

I know it is supposed to be 1/4" diameter but what are you guys using for a peg to measure strings with?
I thought about using a 1/4" bolt of some sort and cutting the head off so the loop will fit over it. Hopefully the string wouldn't slip off.

1/4 inch J hook. the j keeps the string on and even flexes slightly with 100lbs of tension. I use the scale for the opposite loop end.
When I started I would wrap the string around the post and hook both end loops to the scale crank it to 100 and measure. what a pain.
had to let it down a guess how many twist then back to the same.
No ifs and or buts Just maybee.

J hook is a good idea, similar to what I do. I have eye bolts on my string stretcher, and use 1/4" s hooks, one end hung on the eye bolt and the other through the endloop.
