Hi, just bought my brand new GT500 today from Traditions in Henrietta, NY! I shot the Hoyt Alphamax, Hoyt Turbohawk, Rytera Alien X/Alien Z, Martin Firecat, Bowtech Captain and Bowtech Destroyer 340, and when I fired the first 3 arrows from the GT 500 I had to have it! I have never handled a more stable, quiet, easier to draw bow ever! What drew me to looking at Elite in the first place was my brother has a Z28, and he loves it. I like the Z28, but the GT500 felt a little more stable for me. Also I live and grew up in the Rochester/Fingerlakes area of NY and its great to support a locally run company!
Heres what I noticed about the different bows I shot
-The Hoyt Alphamax 32 is a beautiful bow, and shot great, but I felt the Elite was more bow for the money. The Turbohawk felt way too light for me, and had a hard time keeping it stable compared to the Elite. What lead me away from the Ryteras and Martins was the noise, still felt like a good quality bow, so it might have just been a tuning issue that lead the noise. The Bowtech Captain is a sweet bow, and my other brother shoots one and loves it, but for the same price I'd rather support a local Rochester, NY company. The Destroyer 340 felt very similar to the GT 500, but it was a little more expensive. At the end of the day my choices were narrowed down to the Hoyt Alphamax 32, and the GT500 and came home with the GT500. Now hopefully that big buck will come within range come fall!
