    Post Here I go.

I think all this self-sufficient preaching has finally gotten to me. I am going to try and replace my own string. I have LeEarls tuning video. I guess I will watch it about 30 times before I try this out.

I plan on acquiring the following stuff from an already determined source:

    Full take down press
    Draw board
    Digital scale
    Cable Vibration eliminators(Sims I think)

    I have on hand:

    Replacement string
    Loop Material

Things I think I will need and also need recommendations on where I can acquire them:

    Paper holder
    Chronograph
    Nocks(for the speed nocks)
New Peep(I have the oval meta peep currently)
    Nock Pliers
    Heat shrink tubing
    Bow square.
    Laser Alignment device.
    Bow vise.
    Horse Tranquilizer
    Dave Nowlins Phone Number

Also let me know about any other Items that you think I might need or would be nice to have. I intend to set all this stuff up in my barn.

Take digital pics of both sides of the cams prior to removing the strings to use as a reference.

nock tying thread for tying in a nock or for tying in your peep

serving for a drop away if you using one or you may want to serve the string where the string suppressor hits if you're using one

string silencers. if you're using bowjax make sure you put them on the string/cables before installation or you'll be pressing the bow again and taking the strings back off....learned the hard way.

not to get off topic but I would ditch the string silencers. my envy is super quiet. I have killed both deer and elk with no silencers on the string. as fast as it is, combined with how quiet it really is....... i say ditch 'em

I have to disagree with bonecollector. The string leeches only cost me 2 f.p.s. and the extra vibration dampening and quietness is well worth that small sacrifice. I would also save my money and set my centershot at 13/16 inch from centerline of arrow to face of the riser. Then you won't need the lazer. I also eyeball by looking at a slight downward angle across the top of the arrow to the very top edge of the 2 berger holes for starting vertical alignment. I have a square but don't use it. Don't waste money on tools which have questionable value. Do get a Pellouze 7710 digital scale from Americanweigh.com This is the same scale Crackers and I use. It'll cost about $90.

Yup! Very,Very Important to have a Sketch or Pics of your String and Cable Orientation on the Cams. I Learned that the Hard Way and it also cost me a Trip to my Local Proshop for some help. The Funny thing is;When I brought the bow there with No Strings or Cables on it the Guy brings the bow into the back to put everything back together and 5 Minutes later he comes out and Grabs a Brand New Bow "same as mine" off the Display Rack to Follow how the Strings and Cables were set up on it.... Ever since that day I have tried to do most things myself. With Pics of course...Best of luck to ya! J.R.

I learned the hard way....that's why I take pics now. I had an OG and routed the cables backwards. When I went to pull it I about ripped my shoulder out of the socket. It would hardly budge. Stringing up a bow really isn't something you want to do by trial and error. You want to get it right the first time to prevent injury to yourself or damage to the bow.
