Default How do I shorten the DL on my XLR 1/2"

Just asking what is the best way to shorten my DL on my XLR as I want to ditch my carter quickie II and shot the stan spike for Vegas.. I feel like I need a shorter DL. I guess I can just move the stops and change my let off??
    Please advise.

If you are wanting to go a full half inch the best option would be to change cams to the next size smaller...

    i totally agree.

too much let off will be needed, UNLESS you can give up some poundage. if you want to mess with the harness and drop peak weight (if you can afford to lose peak weight or if maybe you have backed the limbs down).
maybe you can lose 3/8 inch and trade poundage. from all the playiing i have done with mine, my "from the hip" response is that you can get there with the same cams but lose 4-5 pounds of draw weight.

Only trouble is you will shorten the valley so there isnt one. Getting the right cams is the best answer.
No ifs and or buts Just maybee.

I do have my 60# limbs at about 54 #'s
So I guess I should untwist my cables and this will shorten DL and lower poundage.
Even 1/4" would be nice at this point I just feel like I have no room for my back muscles to move. An observer confirmed this today.
One thing I have to say about my Elites that both have stage 1 strings is that I haven't had to adjust anything in a year of hard shooting.. DL just and peep just stays the same.
I really hate to mess with anything this close to Vegas but I do plan to shoot the back tension which is a major change and I only started to shoot it recently in Practice. I will test it out unde rmy stress in a in the am at a Vegas warm up competition.

shorter Draw length and MORE valley... quickest and best way, next number cam downwards. you will get the MOST valley and best tune this way, for target. you can let a twist or two out of the string. (more valley, more length) then 1/4 turn from limbs for weight adjustment
with Vegas so close, i would recommend "if you need the change" this approach.
after wards, with more time.... Maybee and another little trick helped me get these Rev cams spot on for valley and DL. but it takes play time for tweaking, which is not available right now.

I will just have to man up for the back tension.
I will have to give someone my old trusty trigger and tell them not to give it back to me till
Sundays final round. I usually can shoot it well for most of a round after using the back tension. If you guys see a brn camo fletched XXX hit the back safety net at veges it will most likely be me.

    Well just shot a 279 down 15 first 150 and only 6 2nd..
I really need to go to the Draw board.
Going to tyy to untwist the cables crank up the bow = shorter DL by 1/4-3/8" leave the holding weight the same.
    wish me luck

Gave a buddy my puncher quickie II and said not to give it back until after sat Vegas.

I wouldn't go more than 3 maybe 4 turns in the harness and up to 1/2 turn on the limb bolts to get you back to the approx. DW... Good luck!

Well I went 3 then 8 unwindings on each harness and only 1/8" less DL.
peak weight went from 52 # 14 oz to 52# 12 oz and then 51 # 10 oz at 8 turns off each.
Holding DW went from 12 # 10 oz to 16 # 12 oz. Overall not a good thing.
I am going to put the 8 turns back on and try adjusting the draw stops??
