Default Who's going to Vegas in 2010?

Just wondering who's planning on going to Vegas for 2010? I believe it's the weekend of February 18th thru the 21st @ the Riviera Hotel.

I've never been, but I might have just talked my better half into going with the whole brood. Woot!

Question: do I have to be a member of the NFAA to participate? Looking at the registration form, it doesn't appear I have to. I don't see any additional fees for not being an NFAA member. ??

You do not have to be a member. I went last year for the first time and let me tell you, it was an awsome experience! The hotel is completly taken over by archers. Everywhere you look, someone is carrying a bow. I don't know what your skill level is, but mine was only average on a daily basis (in Vegas I was well below average), but it really did not make a difference to me as I shot in the "flights" division and everyone I shot with was very helpful. Let me tell you, the Pros were just incrediable to watch! If you can go, go...you won't regret it. As I said before, it is something every archer should experience just (at least) once.

One more thing, if it is possible, make sure you are able to stay until the shoot-offs on Sunday afternoon. It is a great conclusion to the competition. Many people took the red-eye flight Sunday evening to be back to work (home) Monday morning, I just booked my flight for Monday.

I just found an SKB case for 70% off at Amazon.com.

That's insane...I couldn't pass it up. The black colored one is $150. If you go olive it's $450 and tan is $499.

Now I'll have a case to put on the plane to Las Vegas!

I might go just to check it out and watch. Might be the only way I get to test a Judge.

it will be my 4th year. I think it is fun. I take the wife but that more than doubles the cost. I registered BH flights yesterday but I will not try to be in the first flight like a few years ago. I got slaughtered and finished 17th with no way of making up the needed points the last day. This year my aim will be the top of 3rd flight.
Cat you will regret if you go sans bow. There are all levels of archers down to the beginner. about a 15-25% chance of hitting cash. Very friendly atmosphere. With a family it might be fun to stay at circus across the street. it will save you 20$ a night in rooms and they are nicer than the rivs. The craps table across the street at slots of fun is the best table around for odds and fun. The riv has texas hold em tourney's and you might get to play with Braden Gellenthien.
MY GT500 bow is named NockCracker. my Hunting rig a GT-500 60# 29" G1 Camo, Spot-hogg 5 pin , Limb driver, B-stinger 12" 11 oz, GTul 400's ,295 FPS- 350- Gr or "Stealth" My Camo XLR 29" 54# Spot bow officially out of shake down testing..PASSED!! shot my first 300 VEGAS BABY and my 2nd in the same day..

Is it possible to have your gear stored at the Riviera? So, if I stay a a different hotel, I won't have to pack my stuff over and back.
