    Question Tuning of the Z28?

Are the Z28 hard to tune? I was just in the tech forum and there is a alot of folks having tuning issues with the Z, whats up with that? Should a person think twice about buying a Z for those reasons? I really like the Z ALOT, but I don't want to be bring it in all the time for tuning issues. or is this something that can be fixed and stay fixed. How's broadhead flight with the Z? Just somethings to think about before I buy a Z.

it wouldn't stop me from buying one. they are not hard to tune, you will not have to bring it in all the time once you get it set up

They are no different to tune than any other Rev cammed Elite bow, pretty easy actually. Broadhead flight will depend on too many set up variables to answer....

    It's a great bow.

    welcome blakeman,

words of wisdom .... don't believe everything you read on the i-net , or it will make you go blind like Ray Charles

i think some of these so-called "tuning issues" were fabricated by newbies that just learned about Elite Archery. They knew a friend of a friend who went to a bow shop and over heard that Elite bows were hard to tune or didn't shoot IBO.

very good possibility the bow shop technician was unfamiliar with EA bows and claimed they were hard to tune. Some of the tuning issues with 2008 Z28 bows dealt with the berger holes and nocking point positioning. These minor problems have since been fixed

in reality, EA bows are no harder to tune than any other bow IF your bow tech knows what he is doing

it's been my experience that if your local Elite dealer also sells another brand of bow .. i.e. Mathews, Hoyt, PSE, etc.... ; he will try to push his bread and butter bow and speak very little about Elites

my Ninja Z (Aigil SS - Frankenbow ) shoots like a Champ and is the schizzle

it was tuned once by Wes at Stage 1 and i haven't touched it since ... still shooting X's all day long

I'm working on getting a Z, but have a GT. Off the rack, they are pretty good. You can go crazy trying to get it to perform even better.I spent 4 months trying to get that little bit that I read about only to reck my strings & cables in the middle of the rut. In less than 2 hours I was able to get it back & shooting great. Thats coming from someone who never even fletched an arrow a year ago. BH flight ? I've read some people had issues , but it was either an easy fix or something w/ the rest. No need to think twice about buying the Z.

The Z28 is simple to tune and stays in tune for a lot of shots. I have read a lot of advice on this and other sites re tuning Elite's and not all of it has been accurate. Some of this advice has been posted by people who should know better which only adds to the confusion. My advice is buy one, make a basic draw board for about $30 and learn how to tune it yourself. You will be amazed how simple it is. Tuning for broadheads is no problem with the Z.

I'm as new as new can be (its been over 15yrs since I shot a bow). I bought a used 2009 29" Z 70lb from WOODSEDGE1. Friend helped me line up the rear peep. Man, easy to shoot and very smooth. I was getting 5 shots under 4" at 25yrdsmso my friend was asking "Are you sure you haven't shot a bow in 15yrs?"

He shoots Hoyt. He gave it a try (he is righty I am lefty) and he did well even with the wrong hand. The Z plain ol shoots. I want another 1!!!!!!!!!!!!
