    Default .358 wssm

There are a couple of guys here in Indiana using this to hunt deer in Indiana to get around the .357 bullet diameter and 1.62 max case length. I was wanting to know if anyone knew somebody who could make one of these barreled in this caliber for my NEF.
    Thanks,

Does IN allow bottle-necked cartridges?? Thought it was only straight-walled cartridges??

Most of the previously shotgun only states who allow "handgun" cartridge rifles specify "straight walled" cartridges, along with some other requirements as well. That is why I was wondering.....

Not sure if it would be feasible to rechamber, but NEF currently makes a 20" .357 Mag barrel for their Handi Rifles. They also make a .35 Whelen, but the chamber would already be too long.

I was told that the NEF are not strong enough to this caliber. Kind of a bummer.

Could go the Encore or CVA Apex route, little more $$$ though! I have looked at the Apex and they are very nice and right around $500 for stainless/black.
