I just ordered a set of new strings for my GT500. Should I wax the end loops and the end serving before installation?

I never did on my last set of stock strings on my GT500. When I replaced the strings I noted that the loops and the associated serving was still in really good condition. It was just the portion of the string that went through the cable slide that took the beating and was fraying.
Never wax servings and be sparing with the wax through the cable guards. Waxing the strings are just to keep the string lubricated. We do not want to build a candle.
If too much wax is used on the cable slide area the string will bind up and the bow will shoot irratic. Wax on the servings where the cam is will also build up in the cam and cause inconsistant shooting.![]()
