    Question A decent inexpensive press?

Can anyone recommend a decent inexpensive press for home use? Not a portable Bowmaster press. It must work on all bows, like my Bowtechs and my Elite. I can't justify spending a lot of money on a professional ultra gonzo shop grade press at this time.

Omni press on ebay for about $150. You could make one pretty easily yourself based on the omni design if you chose to....

How stable is the Omni press? Does is induce any limb twist?

The Xpress nockoff that I have causes the limbs to twist some and I really don't like that. I have put some washers between the bolts and tubing to take up the slack but it still does it some.

I made mine in that style but now looking at sliding in 1/8 inch thick square tube to see if it will stop the slight twisting of the compression post.
but for just twisting the string/cables and changing cams it works fine. mine will not let down far enough to change limbs. (the jack does not allow enough downward slack to fully relax the limbs)
i made it with less than $30 used

If you let the jack halfway down, then take a (strong) strip, long enough to hook it in a hole in both arms. Let it down a little further, so that the strip blocks the arms, release the chain, crank the jack up again almost to it's highest point and hook the chain on again. Crank it a little up again and release the strip of the arms.

You now should have enough room to let it all down to get the limbs of the bow.

After that it's just the opposite way.......

    Try it !!

I have seen Steve's and it is nice but he does not have a stop sign on his street corner anymore.

Steve I haven't finished mine yet. Got the fingers made just need to get out there and do a little welding. Still using the bow master and a ratchet.
