    Default Adjusting Bow Poundage Question

Howdy all! Does anyone know how many turns on my limbs to decrease the poundage roughly 5 pounds?

I've been riding my bicycle too much this year and I've lost some strength in my arms... I'm looking to get it to 65 pounds. I don't have a poundage reader so I'm looking to see if there's an idea on how many turns will adjust it 5 pounds lower.

    Thanks!

I beleive one full turn is around 2.5 to 3 pounds. Check your manual. If you don't have one check the elite homepage.

Okay, thanks I'll check! I forgot to mention it's an 07 Synergy.

DO you have a scale? If not, I took mine down a full turn and one half. Took it back to dealer and we checked it then retimed to make sure everyting was 10-4. Hope that helps,

No, I don't have a scale. I'm just hoping that adjusting the poundage doesn't throw everything else out of whack. I know I'll need to adjust the sight-pins but I don't have a problem with that. It's the cam timing I'm worried about.

Made the adjustments and shot it with no problems... Moved the sight pins down just a tad and we're good to go! Very cool! =)

I had to do this again this year... I don't shoot much during the off-season as I'm a competitive cyclist and during racing season I don't do much upper body strength exercises. It's all about the speed in the legs. Had to turn the limbs down 1.5 turns each. I'll get my strength back after I fling more arrows. Shooting more this afternoon and then off to the woods tomorrow! Wahoo!!!

I took my GT500 to have it checked and the bow was set at 55lbs.....He did one complete turn on both limbs and it checked out at 60lbs. It was a bit much for me so I did a half turn back and I think it is now around 57lbs. With a little lighter arrow I should get the 290 fps back that i lost in the DW. I was at 290 with it at 60lbs and 280 at 55lbs.

Good to know... I guess at 1.5 turns that should equate to 4.5 pounds. So if I do that on both I should be pulling roughly 65 pounds. Honestly, I'm surprised I still even have that much strength. I'm 6'1" and 165 pounds, so I'm rather lean. Heh
