Checked out the DXT

So I stopped in my dealers today and there laying on the floor is a Mathews box that I'm sure a crossbow came in. What's this I ask, and the owner say's, "check it out". It's the DXT, talk about small. I got a kick out of how small the box is. I will say it draws quite nice and string angle isn't as bad as I would have thought. Didn't have time to shoot it, and to be honest don't really want to. I think I might keep wanting to turn it sideways.

I thought the 29.75" ATA was a mis-print, but I guess they are short! What is your DL? I would think at my DL (29") the string angle would be horrible.

I shot one. really didn't like the way it vibrated on the shot. I could hear the string vibe.
it draws nice and the shot is quiet. except for the string noise. I noticed there is no rear stabilizer hole. I guess you have to use the front mt. style STS.

I'm 29" as well, that's why it surprised me. Didn't think it was near as bad as the XT, however I didn't have a release on. And no my nose isn't 5 inches long.

Don't mean to hijack but I used to think that the big wooden Mathews grips were actually nice because I have a big hand. After shooting my Synergy's since March, I find that they now seem very big and uncomfortable. I wonder if I'm the only one who feels like this?

That actually was the reason I ended up with an Elite to hunt with. Whenever I went from my integrated grip bows to my switchback my first shot was always 2 inches left. I tried the Energy and as soon as I held it I knew I would shoot it well.

Yes, Elite's grips are the best. If they ever change those I'm going to cry.

Agreed, but for the life of me I can't believe a manufacturer (hint Kevin) hasn't come up with a grip that will fit over the riser. That way you order the bow with the option of grip you choose, everyone's happy. I've often said if Mathews came up with a grip to replace their wooden ones in the design of their integrated grip they would sell thousands of them.

Before I saw the light and looked no further than Matt's, the first thing I'd do is chop off that block of wood and shoot off the riser. There doesn't seem to be a happy medium--people either love the grip or hate it.
