Well thanks for asking P.Smash....it was a great weekend. Shot the GTO a bunch and meditated about the droptine buck.

No hunting allowed except for bowhunting 4 weeks a year. They do have a couple of draw hunts for rifle hunters two weekends a year, but they only allow 100 permits. The refuge gets VERY little hunting pressure. Bucks can actually die of old age in there. I killed an 8 1/2 yr. old in this refuge a few years ago. That's unheard of anywhere else around here.

Diffiantly is good in Dec. as well as the Cookson refugee. One must have four wheel drive at times. Those roads get nasty with much rain.
We are fortunate to be by some good hunting in the NE part of this state and beautifull lake areas.
