Default Game Spy I40 Digital Trail Camera review

I had good luck with these last year. Purchased them for less than $200.00. I now have three and they worked well all last season. Certianly not a high dollar camera but pictures were good enough for me.

I agree the camera is great for the prcie and the batteries seem to last a long time. Very easy to setup and use. I just went to check mine this past saturday and found out that a bear had knocked it off the tree and then clawed four sides of the camera. The bear came back the next day and crushed it again. The camera still works too.

I'm not too happy with my I40. It takes only black & white pictures in both daylight and at night. It should take color pics in the daytime. I also have a lot of pictures with nothing in them I think the trigger speed is a little slow. I switched it to video mode and get more of the animals that trigger it. Squirrels, possums, raccoons, cats, foxes, coyotes, and occasionally a deer or two!LOL

The HCO SG550 is a much better camera for the money. It has a better trigger time, smaller size and longer battery life. Do a little research of Game Camera reviews. One of Moultrie's biggest problems has been the failure of the LCD screen and according to the reviews, there customer service is terrible.

Moultree around $160.00 and the Scout Gaurd is $230.00. Little difference in price. HCO SG550 does look good. Never heard of one of them untell now.
