    Default Fiber Replacement

I've got one fiber broken and one that is fracturing on my Spot Hogg wrapped sight.

I ordered some new toughfiber from Po Boy but was wondering if anybody has replaced fiber in the wrap before and had any advice. Was it easy to thread through the tube?

It looks like Spot Hogg might use a drop of some sort of glue to hold the fiber on the back of the pins, has anybody used glue and if so what works without damaging the fiber?

    Thanks for any responses.

It' not hard. Mine on the wrap had no glue. Just take the clear plastic shield off and easy out the tube with the fiber you want to replace. You might have to move to around alittle to get the fiber threw the tube. once it comes out the tube push it threw the hole. Then pull the fiber out about 3 inchs or so then push it threw the site hole then work it the rest back into the tube. Take your time. Then heat a allen wrench and melt the end of the fiber to your perferred dia.

Just got done changing one of mine over to blue fiber and a LP light kit.

Thanks. What kind of fiber did you use?

I'm going with toughfiber in green and orange alternating. I never liked the red that came in the wrap, it was always harder to see than the other pins in low light.

I'll see if I need it after installing the fiber. Does it come in a tube? All I can think of when I think of rubber cement is that stuff from grade school that had a brush built into the underside of the cap.

Yep, that's the stuff. I put a little on each fiber with a toothpick. If you have to change fibers later, it's still pliable and pulls off easily.

Pretty easy job, the tough fiber is some good stuff. Just slide it in and heat the end and your there. I have used it on all of my Spot hoggs.
