    Default Introduction

    Hi,

Thought I'd introduce myself. I have just purchased my first bow (although have been hunting with others before).

Looking forward to heading out this weekend.

Just a quick question from a beginner (and probably a very stupid one). The Bow I purchased is a Bear Whitetail 2. It was advertised as a 60lbs draw weight, however when I got it I noticed that the information plate on the inside of the limb says draw weight 70#.

If anyone can clarify whether this is a 60 or a 70 lbs bow I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks.

welcome, if the limb says 70. I would say its 70, go to archery shop and have them put it on a bow scale

That is a VERY old bow. So.....While your at the archery shop...have them check the bow out very closely to make sure it is safe to shoot. If it says 70#'s on the limb, then it is a 70 lb bow even though it may have been backed down to less draw weight. The let of on that bow would be 50% as well!
