Anybody know how much faster the updated riser bows were from the originals and at what serial number the change was made?

I'll let you know. I sent Crackers two Envys, one old, one new. They will be set up identically. I think they'll be back pretty soon.
That's probably the best test you could come up with![]()

Mine is #007 and and the "old" riser and is faster than any other Envy i have seen advertised at 70 lbs. Your limbs will be the determining factor. If they are perfectly matched they will be faster than ones that are not. This is the reason Kevin is trying to build a more consistant limb. Too much variation from limb to limb. At the speeds the Envy approaches every little thing will have an affect in order to squeeze the most from the set up. Arrow weight ,poundage and draw length can be made constant as can string and cable lengths. The only variables will be cam set up and limb consistancy. And Mike Carter will get the most out of them except he can not control the limbs.

I had heard that a few of the older ones were a little faster, but as a general rule aren't the new riser bows SUPPOSED to be faster? I thought that was the reason for the change?

I talked with Crackers today. I can't recall the exact numbers but the older riser was less than 5 fps slower than the newer riser. Bows were set up the same (length, weight, string gear).
He did say that the older riser was somewhat slower if you set it up "the normal way", whatever that means...I guess he worked his magic on the older riser.
I have #36 & it has the older riser. I dont know what # Elite changed them but I was told it was in the 30s.

Elite=E-500 NVG 52# 26dl
Eite=Envy #268 reverse AT 57# 26dl
I owned #36 for a short while, I also read that the risers were changed somewhere in the 30's but I think it was actually way later than that.

I had heard it was changed in the 30's but then saw someone post that they had an early riser and it was in the 70's or 80's, so who knows.
If given the choice, I'd take the late model riser any day. Why not have a few more fps.
