    Default String Silencer

My GT500 is fairly quiet but I do notice a small "twang" . I put two Limbsaver super leech (equal distance from the cams) on the string and the bow is super quiet but I have gone through 3 leeches in a month. Got tired of replacing the leech. I don't mind the bow as is and I can live with a small "twang". Just curious if there are string silincer products out there that will last. Thanks in advance.

Best silencers I've ever used are the old style cat whiskers. Work well to quiet the string, less weight on string IMHO, almost never wear out.

Check your sts and make sure it is not to far from the string or right up against it. This could be causing the sound you are hearing.

Bweger right on. Check and move the STS just off the string can make a big enough difference.

If not, I like the rubber cats from time to time. Have yet to use them on any of my Elties though...

The Bow Jax String Jax are all I use and they have never worn out. Give them a try and you should see the "twang" disappear. Enjoy!

Like Bewger said , check that the string suppressor is about 1/8 to 3/16 away from the string. And I've found a new string silencer that is very light and very tough. It's made by Xfactor it's guarnteed to last. The guy that makes them has had one on for five years and he took it off and tried to tear it apart and litterally couldn't do it! It's kind of flat and has two different sized little balls on the end that are different sizes. I put them on my bows and so far I think they work pretty good. The things aren't very big and only weigh like 1/2 of a leech. Also I only put one on top, with the sts on the bottom you really should"t need one on the bottom.

    Thumbs up idea???

I just put a sts side mount string supressor on the upper two piece quiver mount and works sweet!!! I just had to bend the bar a bit ,very little work. plus no speed loss!!!
