Do not powder coat your limbs. I have had success with bumper paint as it has flexing agents in it, I have also used Duracoat as have amny others.

I used some Krylon Plastic paint on my wife's bow limbs. It's for outdoor plastic patio furniture. It has the flex agent in it. It's supposed to bond with the plastic, but it doesn't seem to effect limbs at all.

I would only be a little worried about the plasticizers and adhesion promoters in the paints for plastics…not sure if they would be bad for the limb integrity. The plasticizers are moble species and may have some adverse effects.

Just playing on the safe side again since I'm a chemist.

You could be right, but I did spray some on an old bow limb & left it for several days, until it cured & dried completely. Then I sanded the paint down to the original finish. I couldn't see any signs of the paint actually bonding, or working itself into the limb material. I do belive that my wife's bow limbs had a clearcoat already on them, & I didn't remove it, I just lightly sanded it so that the paint could stick to them.

Paints designed for other application may have adverse results on a laminated limb. The additives may migrate into the limb resulting in a break down in the binder...not sure if it would happen but it's possible.

    I would call Barnsdale.

After all, if the limb was ruined...look how long it would take to get a replacement now.
