To EAF. There are different mods you can interchange or new cams but you sacrifice speed for smoothness. Look around on the forum tons of information on the E-500.

If you have a draw of over 29" you may want to look into the updated cams. I do not think you will gain any speed you might actually loose a few fps not to mention with the original K8 cams you have the choice of EZ/SPEED/500mods

    Default E500

You can update the cams. But this only needs to be done if you have a 29 - 30" draw. The original cams damaged the serving on the loops of the strings. Elite no longer makes these cams and you can only buy them used from members on here or Archery Talk. The mods available are the ez mods, speed mods and the 500 mods. The ez being the easiest and smoothest to pull with the 500 being the fastest and harshest. Great bow. I love mine. Good luck

Can anyone help me with the greater than 29" draw on the original K8 cams? I've seen it mentioned here and on Archery Talk. I emailed Elite Archery and there response was "Why would changing draw lengths damage your cables?"..I have left two phone messages this week on their tech line this week and still haven't received a call back. Getting a little frustrated. I moved up to a 29.5" draw length about 6 months ago. My cable ends are showing wear, but not sure if it the "natural" time for their replacement or pre-mature from the new draw length.

The only updated cams available now for an 06 E-500 are 07 Synergy cams with the adjustable draw mods. It will work fine but it will be slower. The original K8 cams could take three different mods whereas the 07 Synergy K8 took EZ or Speed (but with no let off). You might get lucky and find a set of 06 updated cams that came out after the originals were cutting cables on 29.5 and 30" draws. The difference is the post location. The originals are in the center of the cam and the updated has them on the side. I also believe the updated cams are a few fps slower than the originals.
