Default Freestyle Bowhunter Class & GT500

In your opinion how much would I be giving up shooting my GT500 in the Freestyle Bowhunter Class versus the long ATA high brace height target bows?
    Thanks

you won't be giving up anything, you'll have an advantage because the 500 should be alot faster than those high brace height bows

I think one could actually do well with this bow. Just came in from shooting mine. Bow shoots quite well. You could shoot big fat arrows at low poundage.

as far as spots with a GT500 goes I have shot 7 300 rounds in a row with this bow and my average X count is around 51x's my low X count was 49 and my high X count was 53, and this is just with my hunting release, a Scott Mongoose, the 500 is a do-it-all type bow for me

I don't have a GT500 but I do have a GTO which is similar in specs. I also have the XLR. Truthfully I believe the GT and GTO are just as accurate as the XLR. The difference is the shootablility. There is less draw cycle w/ the bigger brace of the XLR which translates to less work done by you pulling the bow. The draw is a little smoother due to the longer ATA. Both of these things translate into shooting more arrows more comfortably. Of course as DB found out, If you are a 28.5 in draw or smaller the XLR will come w/ cuda cams and they pull a little stiffer compared to the reg rev cam so it's a push for shorter draws on those two bows. If you are 29 or longer then the XLR would be a benifit to someone shooting alot of arrows and supreme accuracy.
    Just my opinions.

I totally agree with this post. I think the XLR is diffiantly got to be a little more forgiving if you like the Cuda cams. I doubt I would have sold my XLR if it had Rev. Cams.
