    Default envy vs GTO

I am new to Elite and I am looking at either buying an Envy or a GTO. I am leaning towards the Envy, but they are hard to find. I just wanted to know from people who have shot both of the bows how the GTO stacks up to the Envy in terms of speed, hand shock, draw cycle, and forgiveness. I want a bow that is smooth, but I am also looking for a fast bow that I can shoot out to about 90 yards.

Having owned BOTH the bows in question, I can say the following of course in my OWN opinion.

The Envy does not have as smooth a draw cycle as the GTO...The Envy was using the K8 cams...Fast, but a little harsh.

The Envy is quicker then the GTO at a shorter drawlength...

Both bows have the same brace height of 7 in...Hence they are both forgiving.

The Envy has an IBO of 355 FPS...The GTO has an IBO of 340-350 FPS.

The fastest speed of my Envy was 333 FPS @ 60/29/300...The GTO was 325 FPS @ 60/29/300.

FYI...I paid 600.00 for my Envy used and couldn't sell it, the MSRP was $1000.00...I traded it for an Aigil. The GTO was purchased new, and it was sold when the GTO craze was on.

ANY bow will hit a target at 90 yds, as long as you know how to shoot it

IF you think you will keep this bow...The Envy does have that "prestige" to it.

    Good Luck ...

Thanks for the quick reply. From my research I am beginning to see that the Envy has a let off of 68% and that is all?

I have an Envy and recently found a set of easy mods that were orig made for the bow.. Its a long story someone else will tell you about. But these mods allow the envy to have 80% letoff.. After switching to these mods the difference is amazing.. Much easier to hold at full draw.. Im betting blindfolded i would not be able to tell the diff between the two bows now.. just my two cents worth.. Both of these bows are amazing bows..

Both are real nice bows. Envy is a little faster and it is soooooo preeettttttyyyyy. They are not easy to find so if you find one dont be affraid to jump on it.

I don't suppose you know where I would be able to find an envy with the easy mods on it?

I have one...but it is not for sale.

The thing with the envy is it is hard to get the letoff you want at the exact DL you want. If you are ok with 65-75% letoff than it is great, but it is hard to get 80% letoff at all the DL's without being over DL for the mod setting.

The GTO was supposed to be faster but it was not.

Also the IBO was originally 355, but this was revised to 350. In reality it was really 345-350 since some Envy's run long, and when you adjust them back to the right DL, you have a hard time getting 350 IBO.

I use the speed mods and don't think they are that harsh, I also shoot at 60lbs though.

    Default cams on envy

The Envy Has Its Own Cam It Is Not A K8 Cam That Was Only On The Synergy.not As Fancy But A Very Nice Bow To Shoot. I Have Had All The Models And They All Are Shooters. The Gto Does Have A Nice Draw. But The Envy Is Faster And A Very Good Shooter And The Nicest Looking Bow Out There. Gt500 Is The Best Shooter.

I have an Envy with Ezy mods and i shoot 90m & average about 1320 for a full 90m FITA round.

I have had the bow since new and have a set of seed mods but have never tried them as the bow is plenty fast enough and very comfortable to hold at full draw.
I had the let off at around the 83% but had to adjust it back to about 74% now.

Before you ask no its not for sale yet anyway.

I prefer the draw of the Envy cams to the GTO. I've owned both and now have an Energy with Envy cams.
