Cool, Ive never seen a piebald. Can you hunt her?
I've never seen one either. Never in all my years of hunting in Colorado and northern Indiana.
What causes it? I know it's a genetic defect, but does it reflect an unhealthy herd?
She was in a group of apprx. ten does and fawns, several miles away from my nearest hunting location. A few years back there was one real close to a property I hunt, a buddy saw her pretty regularly, although I never did. I'm no deer biologist, but I think it is an individual abnormality, not a reflection on the deer herd.
it's abnormality in a specific deer... they carry the gene though. i've never seen one except in pictures..i'd love to see an albino too.
