    Default Ice or Fire

I am trying to decide between buying an Ice or ordering a new Fire.

I can get a used Ice that I have found that is 23" - 27" draw, 50 - 60 lbs, black riser with camo limbs, 8125 string with 425X cables for $350 shipped. It is in good condition.

I can order a new Fire which I think would run about $759, or at least that is the price I have seen. If anybody has already ordered a new Fire, what price did you pay? (If you don't mind me asking)

There is a pretty good price difference there. I could get the older Ice and use the difference in money to get either some new accessories or get it refinished/dipped. It appears that the bow will very close in speeds and weight. The only real difference in specs that I have seen is the axle to axle length - Ice is 34" and the Fire is 32 1/2".

What are ya'lls opinion on this choice?

I like the look of the fire better, but you can not ignore the price difference. I would look real hard at that Ice for $350.00

You're talking $400+ more to get the Fire and that's quite a difference. I'd verify that first though and call around for pricing on the Fire. I think I paid $599 for my Ice new. If the Fire was more in the $600 range, I'd probably go that route.

It's nice to have the latest and greatest and the new Fire looks really nice, but if those prices are correct and money matters, I'd probably get the Ice. I'm really happy with my Ice. It's a real shooter and the cams are adjustable for DL unlike the 08 models which will use different modules. Not sure if that's a plus or minus yet. I consider it a minus unless you have all the modules, especially when it comes time to sell.

759.00 is the MSRP and you should be able to get one cheaper than that. Obviously changes have been made to the bow from 07 to 08 and you have to remember who designed the changes Patent Pending Mini-Xtreme Energy Wheels,,,,,,,Bring'em on!!!!!!!

Nothing wrong with an Ice bow if that's what you can afford right now,, Doesn't mean that later on you can't buy a Fire to make a perfect pair .. heck I bought 3 Synergys before I finally took the dive in on the Envy,,, Now I want a GTO,, dammit,,, and Im broke as a church mouse with a nibblet of cheese and a bad habit of chasing cats,,,lol

The more I think about it the more I think I may order a new Fire. That way I would have a warranty and all. Although I may have to wait to see info on the new GTO. Elite Brad already mentioned that it would go down to 26" draw. However, if it is over $800 like I believe the Envy is/was, I will definitely be getting the Fire.

You know....now that I think about it I could sell my '03 Hoyt Razortec to cover the cost of the Ice and then sell my '06 Bowtech Allegiance to cover the cost of the Fire. Hhhmmmmmm
