Default Advice for Arrow Length Please

Hey guys, I'm going to set up my GTO for indoor 3D mostly, and some indoor 20 yard stuff.

I've got some Victory XringerHV shafts here (6.2gpi) courtesy of bartman, and was wondering what length would be good for them. Should I cut them short to get the crazy GTO speed out of them, or longer? What weight tip, what vanes to use etc etc...

My setup is a 60# GTO with a 29" draw. I have a d loop if that matters, a QAD pro drop away...

    Thanks for any help

What I usually do is not to cut them so short I can't use them for other things. If you glue tips in (bond) and they are cut short you can't use that arrow for anything else. The GTO is plenty fast with that light arrow so I wouldn't cut the arrow too short. In other words your only taking off 13 grain or so by losing 2" of arrow. You can't go too long on that arrow though cause you will underspine it. My setups are 29" at 60lb and my arrows are around 28.5" from insert to knock groove. If it was me I'd cut 28" of carbon, fletch one up and put enough weight in the front to get it just over 300-320 grain total arrow weight. Then I'd shoot it through paper and see how it tunes, then I'd shoot it at say 30 yards. If it's all you hoped for, then I'd do five more arrows and shoot those.

Then again if it was me and I was gonna shoot that bow for spots, I'd back it down to about 54 lbs and shoot about a 600 grain fat aluminum shaft. : )

When my bow was at 29", the arrows I used with a Limb Driver were only 27" (that is the shortest they could go)

I usually stay 1" shorter than my draw to be safe.
