    Default Upgrading my E500

    Hi all

I am new to the forum but has been a proud Elite owner since 2006.

Is it possible to upgrade my E-500 with a set of later model cams and if so which ones could or should I go for and what significant improvement can I expect (looking at the specs of later cams fthat ollowed the K8 cam I personally would expect a smoother draw and higher arrow speed ...but then, maybe I am dreaming)

    Keep on building them great

There are more than a few people on this forum that would say you have one of the best that Elite has made. I am leaning that way myself.

might get a tad smoother with a GTO Cam, but speed will be close to the same. do you have original K8 cams?

Because the 06,07 & 08 models are three track binary systems you could most likely put any cam from those years on your bow. Personally I don't think changing from the 06 original K8 or updated K8 will help your bow's performance simply because of the options available with that year cam. You have the ability to use three different mods EZ,S,500 to make the bow "feel" like you want it to not to mention dictate the speed of your bow by which mod you use. The E-500 is my favorite Elite bow ever and I've owned Synergy's, an Envy and a GTO as far as the speed bows go. My E-500's are/were 4fps faster than my GTO and just about the same as the Envy but at 80% let off. Change is not always good. You've got a great bow already.

Sorry, forgot to welcome you to the forum, been a proud owner on a NVG E-500 since "06 also, to reiterate, don't think you can upgrade this one, she's already the best.

    Default My Upgrade

Just upgraded my E500 tonight.....added 1/2" DL with a 500 module. I bought my NVG E500 as a 2006 closeout. After years with 29" (off the shelf bows), I tested a bow at 29.5" and felt more comfort. Didn't chrono tonight, but I should have picked up a few fps between the DL gain and 500 module.

Agree with the comments already made...the Elite E500 is just about perfect. I was contemplating a 2008 Bowtech Guardian, but have decided I can sacrifice a little speed to quiet the bow down. My current "back-up" bow is an AR37 Blade....maybe I should look for another E500?

LOLOLOLOL I've bought up as many as I can afford. Now I have four of them. You feel like trading your NVG for a Fall Leaf one????

Thanks everyone for the input ... my wife will just lo-o-ove your comments.

Sometimes you know something, but you just need a bit of confirmation. I don't think my E-500 is going anywhere. I will visit my local dealer and see if they still have the other modules in stock ... Availability of modules for older bows seems to be somewhat of a problem in South Africa.
