Summit Viper Ultra here. But, I'm considering going to a fixed stand. Ever since I had surgery on my ankle, it seems harder to stomp through the woods carrying the treestand on my back and then it bothers me a little when I lock my feet in to climb. I saw some nice a** 2 man ladder stands at Gander Mountain the other day. That would give me tons of room to lounge and relax.

API grand slam, model with flip down shooting rail which I remove for archery season, I've tried summits, lone wolf and a few others but for me I always come back to API. They are more comfy, quieter, and grip the tree better for me and my uses than any others I've tried.

I have been using the Sit & Climb for about 7 seasons now and I am not about to change. There is a slight learning curve with using the Lone Wolf but it is light years ahead of most stands out there.

I use the Summit Switch Back. Nice climber and very comfortable to sit in all day. Its comfortable do to the seat and the free flowing nylon straps on it. I can adjust it under my butt better which allows me to lay back a little more. Also, I have the foot extender bar, which allows me to put my feet out further. All the options save my butt and back for all day sits. The only thing I dont like about a climber, other than having to find the perfect tree, is the fact that to climb with it, you will have not limb cover. So youre open to all the deer to see you. I think a hang on stand would work better for placing it in a tree that provides cover, but I have never used one, so I dont know how comfortable they are.
