Default new to archery - sight advice?

My XLR is on order...I'm getting confused with all the sight choices and with little knowledge or experience, it's overwhelming.

My intent is to target shoot in my back yard, 3d, and do some hunting down the road. I really don't want to buy separate sights for each. I like the following, but not sure:

    HHA 5519
    Sword 3rd axis
    Spot Hogg
    Axcel Amortech HD
Any others worth considering with what I'm looking to use it for?

    Thanks for your opinions.

    D Boone,

I've heard of the different classes, but I'm not familiar with any of them, their rules, or their restrictions.

I love Sure-Loc sights. A bit pricey, but very much worth the cost. You pay for quality and Sure-Loc delivers. http://www.sureloc.com

I just picked up my XLR yesterday and after a lengthy sight search, I got the Sword Twilight Hunter, I liked them better the the Spott Hogg and they are half the price. I looked at many different sights. They are extremely well made and designed. They will make them in any pin configuration that you want.

The Spot Hogg is a great site and will fit the bill for all you want to do, you can usually pick them up on AT used for $125 or so for the Hogg it or a bit less for the Hogg Hunter.

I do like the new Truball site and I'm sure it's gonna give SH a run for their money.

The Sureloc is a great site, check out there new QV series, I've got a couple of these and they are priced very reasonable (compared to the Sureloc Leathal Weapons), the good thing about them is you can use the Sureloc lenses on these sites as well.

Default RE: First Sight "#1 SWORD"

I have owned them all. You name it, I have owned it, at least all the major brands. Everything here is opinions and that is all they are. Everyone is entitled to their own. For me, Sword is Heads Above the Rest. They are indestructible, they use the strongest fiber optics, not to mention the brightest. They are moderately priced and the owners are simply great people who offer a very personal and friendly customer service. Plus, they completely stand behind their products 100%. Once you hold a Sword in your hand, you will know why there is no comparison. And I am not being biast in any way just because I am a Sword Pro Staffer!!!! Just do yourself a favor and check em' out.
