I gave the goo gone a try since I had some around the house and it worked great. Took the adhesive off with one swipe. Wish I would have used that stuff from the beginning.

Good idea. Worth a shot. I scraped most of it off by hand. Somehow scratched a small part of the finish off with my fingernail which suprised me and ticked me off.
