Like Rick said it is normal for Elites and is the only negative I have with their bows. I think the reason Elite designed them to tune left of center is because every bow varies slightly where it...
I used Blazers for a while but found them too noisy, switched to 2" high profile Fusions and they were better. I now use 4" Vanetecs on all my hunting arrows.
The Z is an amazing hunting bow. I shoot mine just as accurately as I shoot my XLR or any of my other bows at hunting distances out to 40mts. It is slow compared to speed bows but still plenty fast...
Take things slowly Dan and you will be shooting again before you know it.
Can you use a standard scope on the Tek Hunter or do you have to use the CBE scope? I love the design of the sight but would prefer to fit my own scope.
I will only use 24 hour epoxy to glue in my inserts and I am very particular about cleaning the inside of the shaft first. I have seen inserts come off in targets when glued in with 5 minute epoxy,...
Yes it only takes a small rotation to clear the cables which is not a problem but it does reduce clearance. The curved rod on my Darton DS-3800 loses no clearance because at brace the slide is on the...
Shooting 4" Vanetech's.
Very nice, good to see that some guys still spot and stalk over there. I hunt with an 80lb Z28, if the Hunter is even close to it then I can see why you are so impressed.
You will lose vane clearance with the bent rod.
The large press is way too complicated and still doesn't press the limb tips. The small press doesn't look very stable, I wouldn't be putting any of my bows in them.
Plenty of Elites in Australia, there is very little advertising from the big names over here so a bow has to stand on its own.
Why did you remove the limbs to change the cams? The pivots are made from a very hard plastic and are not something you could make yourself.
I put one on my Z28, it was tuned perfectly with the straight rod but like many Z's it was left of center on the shelf. Only reason I fitted the bent rod was to give me more adjustment on my sights...
You will find that your poi will move to the right with the rod so you will have to move your sights across to compensate. If you noticed no difference with your poi then something is wrong.
I am pretty sure that if you gave them a call they would be able to fix you up.
I think you may need to change your string stop as well, I believe they are a different length on the XLR with Cuda cams.
I lost some vane clearance on my Z28, have to shoot cock vane out now.
I have changed the limbs on a Z28 with the Bowmaster so I don't think you would have any problems. This portable press looks interesting, a lot of money though for an emergency field press....
Nice back yard, I have to drive 15 minutes to shoot my bow.
I would go the Pulse for 3D though the GT500 makes a reasonable 3D bow as well.
I find my Z a bit slow for 3D but for hunting it is on its own.
Either one should tune up alright, I would go the 340's.
Plenty of big fat guys shooting at a high level so I would say it is one of the few sports where fitness doesn't matter that much.
