The worm drive that is in the web address from harbor freight works well. No need for a turnbuckle as it is very accurate at 40:1 ratio. It is a little slower than a standard boat winch but no brake...

I use a rectangle SKB double bow case. It is lockable and approved for air transportation. It has wheels so it can be used like travel luggage. Nice when using air travel and having to walk to gates...

I like my Aluminum Grand Ol' Man Pro. Good size seat and platform. Folds flat and is easy to use. Also, it's rated at 300# for a bigger person like me. Check 'em out.
