For those of you shooting the CBE sights with Viper scopes, what is the advantage of the scope? Is it just because its totally round and dont have the little flat on the one side?
I have another question but I want to know answer to this one first. ;)
The CBE single pin scopes are round too...just the multi-pin have the different shape I believe. From what I have been told most shooting the Viper scopes didn't like how the fiber was run on the CBE single pins...not really ideal for hunting. I am just playing with mine now but so far I really like the setup. Supposedly CPE has some new pin setup for their single pins but I haven't seen it yet.

I have a few scopes. One is a Viper and one is a CBE. In my opinion, the scopes are not the issue, it's the glass. All a scope does is hold the glass, really. I think the Viper is a bit heavier (perceived) than the CBE.
That said, since the shop I shoot for is an Elite dealer, and now CBE dealer, I'll be swapping everything over to CBE.
I hunt with a viper scope and no lense. The pin fiber is protected in a metal tube, which has proven to be a very durable system. I also like the way the pin is angled from the back of the scope forward towards the archer. This gives the look and feel of a free floating pin which helps my target panic!
We have a winner!!! Now look at that CBE scope Sean. Would you want to hunt with that fiber looking loose? Viper is enclosed and like was said the fiber pin is enclosed in a steel tube. I'm betting the new Rhino pins from CBE will be awesome.Quote:

The Viper scope has more fiber wrapped around it and you dont need a light set-up to see your pin in most light sitituations. You can use a wide rubberband around the fiber to cover or expose the fiber to control the brightness of the pin. The lens is in front of the pin. The CBE scope needs a light for the pin fiber in most indoor sitituations. The lens is behind the pin.
Alright, now I have the info I was wanting. :) I agree Jeff, I didn't care for the way the fibers come around on the cbe housing.
Is it possible to order a CBE sight minus the scope? I've been looking at the Tek Hunter XL. What about using a multi pin setup say out to 40 or 50 yards then have the bottom pin adjustable out to say 100?
I just ordered a CBE scope and Tek Target sight.
Will the new pin be able to fit the exsisting scope?
OR do I need a different scope?
Also, what is the exact mod needed to make the Viper scope work on my new Tek Target?
(Jeff mentioned a drill was needed...)
