Going to shoot maxmia 3d selects out of the new GTO. Should I fletch them with Blazers or stick some FOB's on there?

Either will work for you, if the fobs work with your anchor then go for it. I can't use them due to the fact that they hit my face. I think they will both perform the same for you, I just like blazers better.

I have been shooting Blazers and am now playing with the FOB. They shoot great but I also am having some issues with facial contact with my target bow. With my hunting bow and a wrist strap release it is actually better as my anchor point is different.

Neither. Feathers :D

Really though you'll never know which one you personally like better until you try them yourself.

I have tried the FOBs and they shot great. I just could not get used to them due to my anchor point and them contacting my face. I am going to try them a little more this winter when I have more time.

I also thought they were a little noisy compared to the blazers. It may have just been me though.;)

There is no way that I could use the FOB's due to my anchor as well. I will just continue to be a blazer man.

Blazers and Duravanes. The blazers are tough vanes.

Love the way the FOB's shoot, but again, like the others, I have too much facial contact, and can't shoot them. Too bad!

I first tried Blazers while I was in Iraq in 04-05 and was a die hard fan of them ever since, the only down draw I had was getting certian batches to adhere sometimes, no matter the glue I used.......
I tried FOBs for about 2 months before I left Kansas on this current deployment and am really liking them; plan to use em regularly now. :D

i wouldnt use neither . go with quickspin speed hunter st's. the best vane on the market. nothing is more accurate. plus blazers are a pain to get to adhere to arrows. i tried blazers and immediately took them off.i couldnt hold a tight group with them. didnt stabilize my arrows for crap. tried quickspins and love em. i also like the duravane savage vanes. they are the most durable vane i could find. i use them on my target arrows. they fly great.

I decided to stick with blazers. I just can’t get used to how a FOB looks, can’t see a bow and arrow without some vanes or feathers.

If you haven't considered it yet, try fletching your arrows with 4 Mini Blazers set at 90 degrees. This combo fly's like lazers. Ask Jerry/NJ or L-train about this type fletching. It works great.

I won some over on AT in a give away. I think they have promise but they sure do look strange. LOL I am just getting use to Blazers after shooting feathers for many years. :D
Got the FOB's today late in the afternoon. Shot them through the QAD rests no problem, knocked the arrow holder off the bow with the Limbdriver, wasn't enough clearance, it shot good with out it in the way though. Took them outside to try them in the wind and pretty sure they flew better than the Blazers I was shooting earlier. Didn't get to shoot them enough, only two shots when my broadhead went through the deer and stuck in the block target behind and the insert pulled out when I tried to pull it. By the time I got the insert out I had cracked the arrow shaft and that was the only one I had without fletches and it was getting dark anyway so I had to quit. Try some more tomorrow, Thank you for the contest and the chance to give your product a try.Tom

I thought I was the only one that had a batch of non-sticken blazers. I sanded the bases and that really seemed to help.

yea thats what I did plus use alot of alcohol on the shaft or wraps and the base of the vane to clean em but, for me it's just too much work......
I'd rather use the time to just shoot. ;)

also had face contact issues with the fobs and my synergy. May try em again when the XL arrives

Never used fobs but have used blazers. I've always had good luck with blazers so I see no need to switch. The way I see it its like the old saying if its not broke why fix it.

if tried them twice, when I anchor they touch my face and Im always off to the left or right but elevation is good

I have done extensive testing on the FOBS the blazers will have as well if not better performance if bow and arrow are setup properly were the FOB shines is when this is not achieved. The downside to the fob is they are noisier and will allow the arrow to plane easier in windy conditions, but if your set-up or arrow spine is not correct the FOB might offer a slight bit of forgiveness for this. When tested in a light arrow set-up near IBO weighted arrow we could not find any accuracy advantage over the blazers and the blazers would out perform as the winds increased. On a side not if you cut the ring off the FOB they will perform amazingly no noise and will fly like darts this is the only time we were impressed with the FOBS but with the other variables decidded it was just easier to use blazers and worked allot better.Hope this helps in your decision.

You have the EXACT OPPOSITE findings from me...I will have a blazer arrow plane more in windy conditions.

I liked the FOB's but didnt get real far into depth due to the fact it changed my anchor point but they flew great. I want to try what TT75 tried above. I might be able to shoot them without changing my anchor point that way. Maybe unzip a hog with one :D

I took 1 of the FOB's and tried what TT75 said and with a little twisting of the FOB so it wouldnt interfere with my anchor it worked great. Shot great at only 12 yards as it is too windy out to do any good flight testing. Glad he mentioned that!

I gave up on the blazers as I couldn't get them to stay on. I am trying the fobs now so can't tell you aything on that but if you have problems getting the balzers to stay then go with the AAE max hunters. They stick great and have the same profile. Until I try the fobs out, I'll be using the max hunters.

Try Vane Tec 2.5" 4 at 90 degrees. I liked my results with these early season. Later in the season I received some arrow wraps, and three fletched some up quick. The Vane Tecs have a smaller profile then the Blazers- which might be beneficial to someone with clearance problems.

I just ordered some FOB's and I hope I have good luck with them. I am concerned because I hear some members are having facial contact which isn't a good thing.

got any hair on your face forget the fobs!! Lots of us have beards in winter and the fobs and a beard is not a good combo. I shoot blazers!! after shooting feathers for years, didn't want to try them but did. Super impressed with the blazers they fly great out to 60 no problems.Never had any problems with them sticking fletched over 100 dozen at my local shop. I always run a cotton ball with acetone down any vanes before fletching.

That's a good idea before fletching them. I too shoot Blazers and am very impressed with them. I don't have a beard so hopefully I will be ok with the FOB's.
