I just ordered a GTO and planned on having a QAD dropway installed on it. I love/need a full containment rest- but feel WBs have too much contact with the arrow.

Should I be concerned about the QAD actuator cord throwing my bow out of time? AM i better off with a WB? Limbdrivers have a great principal; but I do not like the rest style or lack of containment (just preference no flames intended).

Any help would be appreciated.

You need Dave Nowlin's and Cracker's opinions on this. Dave says it will effect let off and Crackers say's if you have that much tension then you have too much tension. This may be an over simplification of what they have to say, we need their opinions.

I can see why you like full containment,..it does have it's advantages especially if you hunt.

I liked the thought of a full containment rest myself so I tried a ripcord after a pro-shop guy recommended it to me. It worked perfectly for the better part of that year leading into hunting season. Thousands of shots and it worked everytime.

The first rain/freezing in the evening night I was out hunting I got my chance at my best buck to date. My rest didn't drop away from the cocked position. I still hit the buck and even put a clean kill shot on him, but my confidence in such style of rest is shattered. And I considered it luck I got that buck.

I will say that I called Ripcord and their customer service was excellent.

I know quite a few people that use these style rest and have had nothing but great success with them, and the principle is good. But I will never use a full containment drop away rest again. If I decide to go back to full containment I'll use a WB rest.

I switched to the limbdriver and I have been more than pleased. I built a little arrow holder on the shelf with a nap shelf holder and moleskin and I have not experienced any problems with my arrow falling off the shelf.

I have suggested the LimbDriver to a lot of very happy folks. It's kind of hard to explain why something so simple works so great. If you do indeed buy it, you also will be "Happier than a dead pig in the sunshine."

I currently use the QAD LD and love it. I can see as if it froze up would be a bit ticked. I was thinking if I decided to take it off my Synergy about try'n the NAP360 since the bristles don't touch the fletchs at all and there are no cords to be messed with.

Could you please post up a picture of that little arrow holder. I am interested to see how you did it

Thank you

I may have been more apt to buy an LD if I saw one with a containment system (pic request above)...but there are a number fo folks who use the QADs with no apparent issues....

If the rest is timed/set properly what would be the concerns or drawback....there is no tension on the return, right?

This is what I use with my Limbdriver to hold the arrow.

I have it on my E-Force. I have a QAD LD on the other E-force and an HD on my latest E-500 and the Allegiance has one of the original Ultras.

You can use that. However the limbdriver comes with one.

There are a ton of happy QAD users out there and I would pick the QAD over a WB anyday. I have one waiting to install on my Fire when it arrives. I'll check timing before and after installation and let you know if anything changes.

I have shot both the Trophy Taker and the Limb Driver. I enjoyed both and shot them well. I will say that the Limb Driver was easier to use and has become my rest of choice.......

If the setup does not seem right i will go to a LD, but hoping the QAD is all i need.

Tried the Ripcord on my E500 and did not have very good luck. Could not get rid of the fletching contact.
