Can anyone tell the advantage of one over the other?I am interested in why some of the older models are being sent back to the factory to have the K8 cams installed? Do the K8 cams perform better than the E-500 cams with 500 mods or even speed mods? I thought the E-500 cams were actually faster than the K8 cams. Thanks

I cant say why some are changing cams. But my son bent one of his and Elite didnt have anymore 500 cams. So we put on the Synergy style and It shoots about 3 feet per second slower. Now Im not sure if its timing or what but the brace ht. and AtA is dead on. I personally dont see any advantage to changing cams.JMHO!

Some of the original cams had problems with the longest draw lengths.

The 29.5 -30" draws were having a problem cutting the cables after shooting a while because of the location of the attachment peg. I have both the original K8 cams on one E-500 and the replacement cams on the other now. There isn't enough difference between them to worry about changing unless you have the longer draw.

Here is part of what I was saying in my thread in the general section on the differences.
I believe it slowed it down a little bit, but the bow is set a couple of #'s less weight now and the draw is nearly 3/8" shorter than it was with the limbs backed out from 70#. These mods on this cam draw a little bit smoother than on the original K8 cams too.IMO. With these changes I think it's 5-6 fps slower but more pleasant to shoot.
On my other E-500 I changed to 27.5" speed mods to get the draw shorter with the limbs backed out. I'll have to go shoot the same arrow through it this am, it's also set at 62+ #'s.
OK I shot the same 363 gr. arrow from the other bow which is +1.66#'s but using the speed mods @ 27.5" to get 28.5" measured vs the above E-500 with 28" 500 mods and 28.5" measured. 5 shot ave. was 286.4 fps. So it is 2.6 fps slower but is set 1.66# heavier should give +3.2 fps but losing -5 fps for the speed mods. 286.4 + 1.8 = 288.2.
288.2 vs 289 is a push on speed. If I had some 27.5" 500 mods I might gain 4 or 5 fps with the original K8 cams vs the replacement cams.
