Good color choice. And you know my opinion.
Slightly slower (5-8fps) but with the Z 28 you pick up a shorter ata, 32 vs 35, increased BH to 8 inches and a quieter bow with less vibrations. I had one of each and shot them side by side with all the same gear set on my bows. The z28 is my favorite now. TA is a PERFECT choice. I have one of each, AP and TA.

I think they are both great bows...

Just from the limited times I have shot either one....just got them Friday....and I have not shot my Z yet only pulled it back a few times.

This is what I think...

I think the GT500 is a little smoother than the Z...there seems to be a bit more valley at the end of the draw cycle on the Z28 than what I feel on the GT500. The Z-28 also seems a touch stiffer on the draw than the GT500.

The GT500 is a shooter there is no doubt in my mind about that. It is also smooth and very quiet and no vibration. The longer ATA will make it hold better and makes up for the brace height...but a 7" brace height is not short by any means. It is and will be a very accurate bow. I have not figured out yet which on I will be hunting with...but I did buy the Z to hunt with...after I get my Z-28 back from getting new strings I will decide.

I think the GT500 also is a tad smoother on the shot.. It's more accurate and holds better also.... The Z28 though is no dog though.. It's got a better valley which I love for hunting and holds like a dream... It also has plenty of speed and very quiet with the right limb savers installed anyway.. I too am using the Z28 for hunting for the shorter ATA and huntability factor this year. But the GT500 will be my All around bow and do all of my 3/D courses, indoor spots and pop-ups.... Cant go wrong with either bow really.. It's all about what you want in a bow in the end..:dance3:

I have both and had the GT500 setup for 3D and took it to the IBO Worlds. It shoots as good as any bow I've shot and ever since I shot one of the prototypes at Michaels I thought this would be an all time great bow (It's right up there). Since setting my Z up for hunting/3D since there are still a couple of 3D shoots left I am really, really liking shooting it. I believe it holds better for me and if I had to just choose one today it would be the Z28. Now if I had a 29 inch or longer draw it would probably be the GT500 but I shoot 27 1/2" and this bow fits me well. The weight is very close on them and the Z28 is not a whole lot slower.
