Ok, I'm going to build a press and am trying to decide between the EZ press type design or the X-press type. I've read alot about both designs and seems the EZ press is the way to go. But on the other hand, the X-press would be quick and simple and I have a bunch of 2" x 1/8" square tubing in my shop.

Either way I go, it will be very heavy duty and I have all the tools and equipment and welding, machining experience to build whatever I want. Just need to decide which one. Thoughts??

I like the X press. I don't have to take my string supressors off of my Envy to press it in an XP, but I do if I use the EZ press.

I voted X press also. they are slick we did a cross bow and the little liberty bow in one.
The only thing that I would do different to it is make some softer covers for the pins that hold the bow. that hard rubber will rub of stickers. I put some stickers of the shop I shoot for on my limbs and it rubbed them off.

You can use the clear urethane hose from lowes, it is soft.

Yes I put a pair of smelly socks on there it works great. no one wants to touch my old socks so they leave the press alone.

I have the E-Z at home, Xpress, at the shop.
Xpress is more versatile.

If you're building then the Xpress type.

Thanks for the advice. I'm glad to hear the majority would build the x-press type as that's the way I was leaning.
