Beside Firenock™, Lightning Nock™, here is the 3rd brand from Firenock LLC, Aerovane™.
After over 8 months of R&D and many, many hours with the best mind in aerodynamics world (Dr. Michael Selig of Central Illinois University, and 3 other professors from Stanford CA, Abuny University, NY and Colorado University, CO) I am ready to show the world what I have come up with next. The Aerovane™. Yes, it is trademarked and US patent pending processed. What so special about this?

How about a vane that :
1) is totally silent when you shot it.
2) do not create drag as it must be fletch straight.
3) have 2 true airfoils (continuous change of thickness and curve surface of the vane)
4) have a wind channel for structural flexibility
5) will not turn until it is a few feet in front of the bow
6) have better down range speed than ANYTHING in the market
7) harder material than anything else
8) is chemically formulated to be easily bonded with ANY super-glue
9) has no delta wing surface vortex
10) has no 1st and 2nd stage turbulence
11) has no wow and flutter due to structural integrity (true ultra slim pyramid design)
12) has true owl wing frontal area design (You all already do know an owl is the only animal that fly with no sound, right? That round frontal area is what make it so special, try to think circular lift, thus turn)
13) 2 vans configuration is already enough for all field point and mechanical broad-heads, 3 vane will be good for nearly all 1.25" fix blade
14) wind tunnel tested up to 500 pfs with no wow and flutter
15) will work with crossbow as it can only be fletch straight!
16) can be fletch with Jo-Jan or BITZENBURGER fletching jig.
17) The height is 0.545" and 3.75" long. So it is just a few hair shorter than a blazer. Which is by design.

OK, picture below. I shall have the first shipment very soon, but all are going to magazines editors, pro-staffs, trusted testers, and some Pro-shop who have signed up to the 1st wave testers, first. If all goes well, I shall have Aerovane™ on our web store by month end, initial it will be in Red, white and Green, 13 more color to come. Now the real question, what do you think people would pay for 18 pieces of those. I am thinking of 200% of the most expensive van in the market as my starting point. This vane use custom, very close to hard plastic, and any one who do tooling would tell you that the mould to make such fluid shape is a BEAR. The mould bill I got for this confirms that! It is close to 280% of the most expensive Firenock mould I have today! Idea and comment welcome!

I am thinking between $10.95 in 18 and offer intro test pack of 5 pieces for $4.00 with shipping and handling so you can fletch 2 arrows like me, one with 3 and the other with 2 vanes. I need some answers and comment so I can start to get real life user feed back fast. The 1st shipment is will be here this Friday and the only color is white! I would most probably have it on the http://shop.firenock.com for the trial pack by next monday if all goes well.

I think they look awesome, but how much do the weigh. I also think 200% markup over the most expensive vane on the market is a little steep. Even if it is considerably quieter, its performance needs to match or exceed the vanes out there now...It looks a lot heavier than a blazer or quikspin, I could be wrong....I do like the look though...

Weight?? I would like to try these out, but I think the price is a little steep also!

I have finalized the price. It is $10.95 for 18. And the weight is about 10 grains +/- 0.2 grains each.

Great talking with you this morning. I think you are on to something here. The engineering behind it has me excited to try them.

If they perform as advertised then I don't think $10 for 18 is outrageous.

I think this could be a real winner.
Are you saying that we only need 2 vanes per shaft?????
because if this is right then this could be the end of my fletching contact issues I have with my GT and Blazers and it also makes it 33% cheaper to fletch each shaft.
Are you also saying that it can only be fletched with Jo-Jan or BITZENBURGER fletching tools?????
I cant wait till we get some feedback on this.

Cheers all:duhclap:

If it takes 2 to fletch an arrow then a dozen arrows would need 24 vanes. Why are you selling in 18 packs?

I am not saying the only way to go is 2 vanes, it is an option. Furthermore, Old habbit die hard. Try to ask people to change is tough, plenty I know would not even change from an old fix blade to a more low profile blade. Can you imagine a HUGH broadhead in the front with front with 3 or 4 blade, and try to correct it with 2 fins only?

Here are a couple videos I did while testing the Aerovane against a standard 4" duravane. I still have a lot more testing to do ;)

This is a duravanes flight at 30 yards. You can see the arrow start to float and rise at about 23-25 yards
