View Full Version : Is my Synergy slow??

I have been told I should be seeing a few more fps out of my 2007 Synergy with my current setup. I know the whisker biscuit slows it down quite a bit, but it works well for hunting. It's coming off when my LimbDriver comes in the mail. Also, it has string leeches (4 total) on it which helped out with vibration but slowed it down a little more. Should I get an E-suppressor and discard the leeches?? Can someone recommend a trustworthy & knowledgable archery shop in the Houston, TX area who can fine tune (Supertune) my Synergy? 294 fps is plenty fast for hunting with, but I want to get all I can out of it. I absolutely love the bow and everyone who has seen it wants one too.

WOW,, 417 grn arrow is heavy if your looking for speed,,, try a lighter arrow,, and please,, for the sake of sanity,,, Get rid of those leeches and get an STS type device,,, The Whisker Biscuit wont cuase you to loose any speed at all really compared to those Leeches,,, if you still have some vibration after installing an STS,, Then you should add maybe just 1 or 2 Ultra Bowjax2's if anything,,, But opt for the lesser of 2 evils,,,

Wow that is a smoking speed for 417 gr arrow. When I bought mine I was shooting 29" at 70lbs with a 405 gr and getting 297fps and I didn't have anything on the string except a loop and peep. I was pleased with that speed. If anyone could squeeze anymore speed out of your bow it would be Scott Whiteford at Viking Archery in South Houston.

294 is fast for the arrow weight your shooting. leaches will slow it down. so will the biscuit rest. if your trying to kill a little string vibe the E-suppressor will take care of that.
If you take off the leaches and whisker biscuit you should pick up about 5-8 more fps. I put string jax on my Synergy about 2 1/8 inches from the cam and picked up 3fps. with out the speed nocks. with them the jaxs slowed down the bow.

That is pretty fast, it is amazing what a few inches of dl will do.

That is the truth but with what they are getting out of the new bows today I reckon you are getting pretty goods speeds with 27".

What would you recommend as far as arrow size goes? Would somewhere around 380 gr. be better? I had the ICS 340 arrows left over from last years bow season and they were brand new, thats why I used them.

I'll be visiting Viking Archery tomorrow to see what they can do. One other person told me Scott was who needed to work on it for me. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll let you know how well it turns out.
