Does anyone shoot feather fletching? I know they are lighter.

I have been shooting the new rayzor feathers from gateway and the fletched up great and make my arrows fly like darts, they are a little noisy but I guess when they are traveling 322+ fps they won't be quiet!!!!!!!!

I still have a couple of Bowtechs and a Martin set up with feathers but don't shoot them much anymore. When I got my E-Force in '06 I set it up with Blazers and use them on all of my Elites. Feathers are lighter and make more noise in flight as well as when you are trying to crawl through brush to get within range of a buck but I've shot plenty with them so I'm not sure it's much of a factor with the deer.

Feathers are louder, weaker, and don't like moisture.
Blazers are tougher, work in any weather, guide my Slick Tricks just as good, and look cooler. Who cares about that little weight savings.

balzers worked just as good as the 3/4/5 inch feathers I tested against.

Old habits die hard, I have been using feathers since high school (a very long time ago) and I think they just look better. Its all what you get used to or what looks good for you. I have tried Blazers and Razors and they all fly good.

:homer: Boy I hear you on this one, it took two years for me to get used to the look of Blazers. We won't even mention FOB's, I still think feathers look more like an arrow should look and probably always will. :hail:

I did not try them with broadheads yet, but I will be shooting piston points, so I should not have any problems. Once we get a broadhead target for the shop I will be testing g5 strikers, wasps, and a few others and will post my results.

Hey Fury

When you test the strikers are you going to include the 125gr magnums

I had a very interesting session with them. They continually penetrated DEEPER than the 100gr striker out to 50 yards. Didn't try past that yet.

I'd be very interested in the results. Keep us posted.
