this was one of a few herds on the highways that trip. Actually the smaller one lol. So I jumped out and grabbed the camera. They were a lot closer than they seem on film. My cousin I was with had never seen them up close before but I figured since my little sportscar only weighs about 2500 pounds and that bull elk could flip it without a second thought I figured it was time to get back in the car haha. You're not allowed to hunt elk in the park (jasper national park) and they get HUGE in there. They call them Royal Elk, and the big bulls get massive.
