Do any of y'all know how to set up an HHA sight that has the dial using the set up tape? I just need to know where to place it to get started because there are no marks indicating where to exactly place it. I know that you sight in at 20 & 60 yards and then subtract where it sights in and the number is the number tape you use. The sight is the DS XL5500....thanks.

Not 100% sure on that particular sight but on other sights that come with pre-made sight tapes here is what I do. Put a piece of masking tape on the wheel and sight in at 20 and 60 marking on the tape those yardages. Next match up the sight tape to your marks and see which one to use. Lastly put the sight back on 20 yards, take off the masking tape and put on the tape matching up the 20 on the tape with where your sight mark is. Hope this helps.

That's a good idea that I never thought of. I don't think that's how HHA does it but it will work for me...Thank you. That's what happens when you buy a used sight without instructions....LOL

LOL, no problem bud. They also don't have the instructions on the website.:noidea:

I try to keep it simple when working on that type of stuff. The more steps you add in trying to make it work the higher the chance you just screw it up. :stupid:

Sight in at 20 and 60. (say your numbers were 25 and 55 use sight tape numbered 30)

Keep your needle on the 25 and put your new tape on with the 20yd mark starting at your needle. Everything else should line up perfectly.

Another very nice thing to know is if you need to make minor adjustments after your tape is on you can stick an allen wrench in the middle of the dial (right in the middle of the little plastic logo) and loosen this then you can make adjustments to the dial. NICE FEATURE.

Great sights by the way. Im shooting a DS5000.
