Neither,,, I would never spend that much money on a rangefinder/binoculars. I'd buy a new bow or two before I did that....

Im 95% sure on the 10x45s but a bit is nagging that 8 power will be easier to get the sight pic on when at close Bow ranges.
These binos would be the last pair I buy(rather than a cheap set every other year, ive got bows;)

Set your Binos on the top cam of your bow. bottom limb against your leg instant tripod. and little to no wiggle.squat down to the ground and its solid as a rock. great for high power optics. Just a thought.

I use my 10's for everything.

I use my 8 power on a harness for hunting, spot and stalk or still. I use my 10 power and spotting scope to locate deer and check antlers, that is where I invested the money. I use a rangefinder that will fit in my breast pocket with a cord around my neck so I don't lose it.
The 8 power is enough when you get close to pick out details for the last 30-40 yards before the shot.
If I was to have only one for everything I would get the 10 power.

Well, I say mine, but yes my buddy has a set of them and I use them when we hunt together. We film each others hunts alot so we do alot of hunting together. I like them, I can't afford them but like using his.

I choose 10. I use to do a lot of rifle hunting & had a 10 power scope. wanted them to both look the same. Makes it a little easier to pick up game

Are they the Leicas, I got a buddy with them that Ive used, the button on the left barrel was a pain so Ive been waiting on these.
I got a dealer buddy that gonna get them for cost for me if I want them.

It think it has alot to do with your hunting style, where you hunt, and how much you hunt with a gun or a bow. Also it will depend on if you ever use a spotting scope. I live and hunt in Montana where the terrain is large and open but I can also be in the thick timber (usually where the elk are). In the open country the 10x's would be nice but the country tends to be so open that I have to use a spotting scope anyway. When I'm in the timber and am close enough to an animal for a shot and need a range I would prefer the 8x's. I wouldn't want to be so zoomed in that I had a hard time finding the game in the bino's. Just my .02

Thats tough. because I think even 8 power may be to strong. wish I could get a new 4 power rangefinder like the old ones. But in a small frame. all around 8 might be the better one to have.:scratchhead:

I called Vortex direct to see if they had a rangefinding bino coming out in 08-09, they said "not at this time but hope to soon". Id been all over a vortex product.
I know they are spendy(wish Id got a link w/out price)
Im try to sse what all think on 8 vs 10 power for rangeing.

I know, I love my bushnell ydg pro scout 6x, super quick sight pic on it.
Which is what makes me worry about a 10x rangefinder. I think this is the new high standard in glass(equal or better than swaro), hope to try some soon.

8X will give you a larger field of view and you'll be able to pick up the target quicker.
I use 10X now and wish I had 8. I've had to search some times to find what I was looking for.
The magnification difference is very little whan treestand hunting , so for me it's a non-factor.

I can hardly believe what a difference high end binos make.
Absolutely AWESOME clarity, edge to edge.

You must be one of the few not bothered by the economy lol I personally would never pay that much for a pair of Bino's but to each his own as long as you like them.My self i happened opon a deal that i couldn't pass up yesterday on Craigs list.New never used Brunton 8x42 Echos picked them up for $75.00 i kinda felt guilty buying them from the guy.Yes you are correct about quality optics cause these things a crystal clear.CONGRATS on your purchase!

My wife would kill me if I spend 3 grand on bino's. I will not look through them at the store, because a divorce would happen shortly after.

Nice Bino's. I have been using 12X50 Barska's for 3D and they are fantastic for 30 bucks, hehe.

Congrats Lonnie. Other than yours having the range finding capabilities, how is the glass compared to my Leicas? Close...same....better??? I bet your are lighter which is a big plus.

Hard to say, I think Leica Zeiss and Swaro are all a step above any glass, your are lower Mag so the exit pupil will be larger, helpin with brightness, these new Zeiss have HD glass with a coating that is unbelievably easy to clean.
I took these into Bass pro and compared to Swaro ELs and the Leica ranging bino, they are all sweet, I tried the Nikon LX which Ive heard is top end and was kind of like, Mehh. Honestly lookin thru my old Vortex is like a light fog compared.

Doesn't make sense for it to be on the left only for obvious reasons.

I probably would have bought them before realizing my error.

Nice binos/finder it I didn't say it already.

I would say 8X. I think its a lot easier to keep in focus with 8's than 10's. Might just be me but for close distance like bowhunting i had trouble getting both sides to focus right. I got a 10X, same model as my 8's and gave the 8s to a bud cause i had the new 10's. Wish i would have kept them.

If you were back in Mn I would say the 8, but where you are at now, I would go with the 10's. More is better right? My sight isn't the greatest so I always opt for the bigger powers, I made the mistake of only getting 3-9 on my rifle scope, now I need a bigger one. I still hit what I aim at, but, I would like more.

These have a diopter compensator for each barrel so if one eye is different than another you can set it up that way. neato EH.
Oh I did get the 10x, just better for the hunting out west.

Congrats on the deal! I would have went with 10x as well, but I invested in a spotting scope last year, so my 8x will do for awhile.
