Synergy Extreme with Fire Cams

I saw where someone was using an '07 synergy with ice cams and it was mentioned for short draw archers to look at the synergy extreme with fire cams. Is this even possible? If so, are you sacrificing anything by doing this i.e. smooth draw, forgiveness, etc.?

I believe that someone had put ice cams on the synergy and was getting incredible speeds. What would be the purpose of doing this combo? Only to get heavier limbs?

I wanted the higher K.E. that I could get from shooting a heavier arrow at the same speed. I have not ever got any incredible speed out of it though. My B.C. says 27" 70lb 350gr arrow 308fps but when it came I chrono'd it out of the box and got 290-293. I called in and talked to jeff and he said thats about right. I do feel however that the DL on my Synergy with the Ice cams is about an inch shorter than on the other Elite bows i've owned.

I just ordered a Synergy Extreme XL with Fire cams. I will let you know how it turns out. If you have a Dl lower then 27" for the XL you need the Fire cams. I wanted the longer ATA and Brace, so I went for the XL. The only 8" brace bow you will find with an IBO like that!

Whoops, didnt even check there, just remembered seeing a chart on AT and woulda sworn it stopped at 28".

I think with the Fire cams it will go to 28" and not any higher. I like the fact that the Synergy and Extreme XL now go down to 26". Now I wonder what would be better for a short DL, the stock cams or the Fire cams on the Synergy or Extreme Xl? Or just stick to the Fire. I know I really like my Ice. :D

BTW, I'm really glad Elite has adjustable draw lengths cams. I think other companies have gone a step backwards in draw length specific cams. I used to like Hoyt. But now that I would have to special order a bow with a 26" dl forget it. Lord knows no one stocks a bow with a 26" dl. :( And then it makes it that much harder to sell.

Yeah, wow! I get 291 fps out of my ice at 60 lbs, 26" dl with a 305 grain arrow, peep and loop on the string. I thought that was pretty good. Maybe new strings are in my future. After the fact I wished I would've got the Synergy with Ice cams. Worth the extra $50 I'd say.

I have a draw of 26.5" but like to shoot a loop therefore the bow would be set at 26". What would ya'll recommend since you can put the fire cams on the other models? The bow would be mainly hunting and 3d. Draw weight would not be much more than 60 lbs may 63 lbs.

And of course, there's never anything even close to my draw in stock anywhere which means I have to special order anything. Guess I'll be keeping my Ice for sometime. The cams are not DL specific(ala mathews/hoyt) but as Texas10pt said the are specific where as 07 had several DLs on a single mod.
I believe you get slightly better preformance when each DL has a specifically engineered Mod.
The mods can still be change without a press, similar to the 06s.

I wonder if the mods will come with the bows? Or will you have to buy them seperately or trade yours in for new ones (ala BT).
