BUY Them! There a great quality set of Bino's.
I know thats an opinion but I have compared Vortex to my Swarovski's and I wouldnt pass up a pair of the Vortex. There really close in all lighting conditions that I had them. My son bought Diamond backs for his girlfriend and there nice.

If the Lens are scratch free that is a smoking deal. I have the Razors in 10X42 and they are great.

Dollar for dollar, you cant beat Vortex no matter which model you choose. You also cant beat the customer service. My sons strap pulled through the buckle and his Vultures hit the concrete breaking the whole tube.I called and told them the damage was no fault of their's or their product and told them to send me a bill for the repairs. They didnt charge me a dime.

That's awful nice of you! But that is a long drive to look at them. Did they get the diopter problem taken care of on the Fury's?
Thanks GB

I did some testing at my house on a pair of Sidewinders and I own a pair of Razors. Both are a little heavy. I found the Nikon Monarch ATBs to be better than the Sidewinders in my opinion. I thought the ATBs were brighter, lighter, clearer and a smoother focus.
The Razors are very nice but don't compare them to Swaros.
I would call Vortex a good value with a great warranty. They took a bit of a beating in the recent issue of Outdoor Life which did an optics test. I can't recall the model they tested but it was not the Razors. I didn't understand their test...they put a top-of-the-line Nikon EDG against other companies mid-level binos. Guess the winner.

I didn't know you had the Razors. What did you do with the Steiner Predators
that you had in Iowa? I thought those were some awesome binos.
I have the Sidewinders and they are great for stand hunting in cover IMO.

IMO.I got an offer I couldn't refuse plus I wanted 8x42s. The Razors are sweet binos. I find myself babying them too much though because they are pricey.

That's why they have the VIP warranty dude... Treat'em like you stole and don't worry about... Can you say warranty?

Just got thru testing some of them and for the price they can't be beat. They may be my elk hunting bino this year unless my Vipers come back that I sent out for someone to test......

How do the Stokes models fit into the Vortex line up? I thought I understood the Vortex line, and now they have the Stokes models. I guess the names in the Vortex line did not appeal to bird watching crowd. I had the 8x42 Sidewinders (now Diamondbacks). Very nice comparable but a little heavier than my Nikon ATB 8x42.

The Broadwings are basically the Vortex Furys but in the Stokes Birding Line. My wife has a pair that she really likes. I think that they were an excellent value. I have the 8x Razors and Skyline ED spotter. Great glass for the $$$. Is there better, sure, but the value is there and the company in my experiece is top notch! With optics and archery equipment you need to decide what features are important to YOU!! If you have the cash and demand the best you will pay for it, but if you want a great value for your dollar, get a Vortex/Stokes!!

I have a set of the Fury's and love them. I purchased mine from Jayhawk on AT. The glass is much better then what you would think you would get for the price you are paying.

How did your Fury's compare to the Vipers?
I wanted the Furys last year but they kept getting delayed. The good folks at Vortex cut me a sweet deal on a pair of Vipers in the mean time.
LOVE THEM.

KARBON, Fury's are sweet. A good bino optically, not as good as the Viper. Size wise they are a little longer and a little heavier but still light in general. I would say that they are a good deal but I heard that the early models had issues with the diopter setting. don't know if this issue has been fixed or not. I played with an early model and had no problems so I don't know how many did. Hope this helps.

Any one have a Vortex Spotting scope?
Im thinkin about one, I think Nomad is the name.

Never used a Nomad. I have the Skyline ED, their top scope and I like it. I think that it is a good value except that it is frickin huge! If I did it all over again I would buy a Nomad or better yet the Nomad ED when it hopefully comes out in 09
