Just wondering how many others have turned there best stand sights over to there kids.
This year my 16 and 13 yo children have taken over my best spots with my blessings.I find that i get more enjoyment from them haveing great hunts than if i were there myself. This is the first year for my 13yo to rattle in a buck, two in one day they circled downwind and busted him at 50 yards though but he was still really excited about the encounter.
I have been hunting from the same tree with the kids just to help out and hopefully teach them a thing or two,it is a great felling to watch your child make a pefect shot even if it is a yearling doe there excitement is off the charts.
Anyhow just wondering how many others hunt with there kids like that.

My son is only 4, but he is always with me. We hunt from a ground blind for now, but when he gets bigger I will teach him the art of spot and stalk.... right after L-train schools me.:D And to answer your question, ABSOLUTLEY! I will always sacrifice anything for my son.

My kids don't hunt so I keep all the best spots for me  Actually it's funny that I do give up some of my best known spots to guys that hunt with me every once and a while. We put Brandon Reyes on the stand that I shot my P&Y from a couple weeks earlier, he must have done something wrong cause it sure worked for me.

I have not killed a buck in 3 years. All my effort is in making my daughter a successful and knowledgible hunter. She gets the best stand sites and now that she has been scouting with me for 4 yrs. She knows what to look for in an area. In 2 yrs she'll be off to college and hunting on her own. Then I can get back to hunting for myself knowing she will be just fine scouting setting up and hunting on her own.
Of course when she comes home a great stand will always be waiting for her.;)

I am not fortunate enough to have kids yet but I would have to say that would most definitely turn my stand over. Heck I put my younger brother on my stand one day this year and he took a nice 8 pt. I am still looking for a buck this year but I was really happy for him. I tend to look out for others more than myself. I know my day is coming soon.
