Why was there 3 different brace heights for the Energy & what are they? Is the ATA the same with the different brace heights? Which brace height worked best on the bow? Are 27 DL modules available anywhere?
Thanks,

Ray....I can't answer all of your questions but I believe the BH's were 6 5/8, 7 7/16 and 8. I believe Kevin said the 8" was first. Maybe they changed the riser and BH to get more speed out of the bow. I have an 8" BH model arriving this coming week so maybe I'll be able to answer more then.

The only one that you can get 27" draw in is the short brace bow like mine. The 2 longer brace bows only went down to 28". I think the ATA was about the same on all of the models. I personally like the 6 5/8" brace the best. Mine is one wicked bow.

That's the one I wanted but they are hard to find so I reckon most people that have them are hanging on to them.

Just buy the Envy as they are faster and will give you more brace height. Also easier to get parts for.

I have an Envy already. Its at Michaels waiting on new limbs that E-Lonnie sent to somebody's house LOL After owning the XXL for some time though I have found that I really shoot their longer ATA bows really well.

So you think you shoot a bow that is 1/2" less in brace height and a little over an inch in ata longer better? Just wondering what you can attribute that to? I would think you would shoot the Envy better if i had to bet. What are your thoughts on why?

I'm actually basing my XXL versus my Synergy & GTO. ATA for XXL being 36 versus 33 and BH being 8 1/16 versus 7(give or take a few 1/16ths). I am only hoping that I could shoot a 6 5/8 Energy just as well as my XXL because of the longer ATA but I haven't shot one of the shorter BH Energy's yet. When I get my Envy back I will surely give it a fair chance against the longer ATA bows I have. To be truthful I haven't shot my Envy yet.

Not to mention aging eyes will appreciate the string angle for a clearer peep sight. I agree with you on the longer bow being easier to shoot accurately. and I think its all in the string angle more than anything else for me. I think my form is good enough to over come any effects from a shorter brace.
wish I would of bought the 6 5/8 when I had the chance.

I actually got a great lead on one last night. I should know by tomorrow how it will be performing and then making my decision.:freakjam: Can you say hybrid?:magic:

I had an 8" BH that was a sure enough shooter. I would love to shoot one with the short BH to see how it compared, though. I'm shooting my GTO really well, but I think I could shoot a longer BH even better. I'm pretty tall and have a long DL, but I like the GTO's size for hunting. It is just barely long enough for me.
If I ever get out of PT school and get student loans paid off, I'm gonna be the Louisiana Bow Pimp! :muscleman:

The mods are different on the two bows as well from what I understand. They will fit the same bow but the length will be different, I believe you add 1 inch in draw for the long brace. In other words a 28" number 9 mod would be a 27" on the short brace model. I have a short brace model that I've hunted with the last couple of years and it's a great bow.

You are correct on the mods - the 8" model mods start at 32", meaning a #1 is 32" draw. On the other two, a #1 is a 31" draw. I have an 8" model with #6 mods, which is 29.5".
Also, FYI - the string and cables are the same on all three - 58.5 on the string and 40 on the cables.
The reason for the three different models is that the 8" was first and apparently the speed demon that designs them had to have more speed - so he created alternative risers for more speed. The only difference in the bows, as I understand it is the geometry of the risers.
As far as why I like the longer ATA/brace is that I can shoot it better and with my draw length, I get adequate speed. I owned an E-500 & while it was fast (298 with a 412gr arrow), my Energy is fast enough and for me anyways, more accruate. I suspect with that same arrow, I am getting around 280fps. The reality is, arrow impact difference is minimaly different at the two speeds. There isn't a whole lot of difference between 280fps and 300fps - both are fast.
There is a reason why Tim Ewers -Elite's best comp shooter - still shoots an 8 inch Energy - even when the XXL became available.

Is it for sale and is it 60#?

The energy is a 70 lb bow and it is in night vision. I feel sure that it could be bought. There are some 60 lb energys on AT.
