Proud father moment.

In the last 2 weeks my daughter has broken the British National record twice. She was shooting the junior equivalent of the FITA target round (called the Metric 4, for girls under 14). 2 weeks ago she beat the previous record of 1381 by a point. Yesterday she upped it another point to 1383 (out of a possible 1440). This is a 12-dozen arrow round shot at 40m, 30m and then 20m and 10m on a small face. Had to shoot the final distance perfectly (360 28x) to take the record which she did and is real pressure shooting.

She is using an Elite Ice with some light limbs (315s I think).

Hoping for more this summer before she turns 14 and moves up distance and looks to break that record too.

Thanks Elite for a great bow. Would be nice if there might be a replacement before too long. She already has a 26.5" draw so could shoot most Elites now, but the Ice is great as it is physically light in the hand.

Congratulations, you must be very proud of your daughter, that was a great effort.

Thanks. Yes, indeed.

Junior National Championships are this weekend coming. Unforunately she has been off school the last 3 days unwell, so not the best preparation. Still we will see. Whatever happens she has had a good year so far.

Good luck to her, I hope she shoots well. When she is shooting against Australia tell her to go easy on us.

British weather.....!

Junior National Championships cancelled. There has been so much rain recently the national sport centre (the venue) cancelled all outside events over the weekend. A lot of very disappointed juniors, including some that had been selected to shoot in the home nations match betweeen England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

Shame.
